Leptons

Leptons, along with quarks, are one of the most basic components of matter, elementary particles. As with quarks, there are 6 types of leptons: electrons, muons, and taus, and three versions of them called neutrinos. There are also three different generations of particles made of pairs of two (the lepton and its corresponding neutron). Unlike quarks, however, they do not take part in the strong interaction, though do respond to the other three forces.
